Oregon Health News is supported primarily through subscription revenue (75 percent), while the remainder of its funding comes from educational programs run by the Oregon Health Forum division.

A board of directors and advisory council - comprised of representatives from the insurance, medical, legal, pharmaceutical, home health, employer, and consumer communities - oversees the Health Forum. The board is responsible for managing the fiscal, business and legal affairs, while the advisory council serves as think tank for Oregon Health Forum. Members of the two bodies serve on a voluntary basis.

Oregon Health Forum's board of directors and advisory council exert no control over the content and the tone of Oregon Health News. By having editorial freedom, the newsletter maintains its integrity and credibility as an independent source of health policy news and information for the community. The editorial staff is not affiliated with any special interest group or lobby.
